Associate – Sourcing Innovation Team

Job Description
Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Taylor Geospatial Engine (TGE) is a non-profit organization with a mission to advance geospatial innovation from academia towards viability in commercial markets. We are seeking an Associate to build relationships with innovative academic partners across the research organizations in the Taylor Geospatial Institute (TGI).
TGE is a sister organization to the Taylor Geospatial Institute (TGI). As such, TGE is actively building relationships across the TGI community to identify innovations that have potential for commercialization. The Associate will be part of the Sourcing Innovation Team and will be responsible for building a knowledge base of innovations emerging from TGI. Additionally, the Associate will identify and help define programs to support the commercialization process.
The Associate will be responsible for working closely with the Director of TGE and other members of the organization to:
  • Build strong relationships across the academic community within the Taylor Geospatial Institute (TGI) along with a working understanding of their work with commercial potential
  • Plan and host meetings, events, seminars, and other in-person and virtual sessions to foster awareness, build trust, and provide value to the geospatial innovators within TGI member organizations
  • Coordinate with Innovation Sourcing Team to establish best practices for continually documenting and tracking innovations, commercialization needs and timelines, as well as building metrics for tracking progress
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the role 
  • Minimum of 5 years in the geospatial industry or academia with technical skills and 
    leadership experience
  • Thrives in an environment building and managing a program to meet multiple 
    goals of the organization
  • Enjoys thinking openly, expansively, and with flexibility to generate a plan rather 
    than following a routine process or set of requirements
  • Experienced leading or coordinating projects involving cross-functional groups
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, along with professional written 
    communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
